A 77-year-old Cuban national and a middle-aged accomplice from Newark were arrested after 140 shopping carts were stolen from the Rochelle Park ShopRite over the course of two weeks, authorities said. A Newark man who led officers on a pursuit in a stolen vehicle and then tried running on foot through a Union County park was found hiding in the Rahway River, authorities said. A Kenilworth officer was conducting a radar detail near Boulevard and Wilshire Drive when he spotted a 2005 Ford Econoline van speeding around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, local police said. Lyndhurst police nabbed a Newark couple for drugs and other offenses following a traffic stop. Brake lights that weren’t working drew the attention of Officers Michael Clifford and Nicollette Villani to an older model Nissan Altima with an expired registration near the corner of Riverside Avenue and Jauncey Avenue, Detective Lt. Fort Lee Pedestrian Struck, Killed Near GWB, Englewood Cliffs Driver Cited
A 59-year-old Fort Lee pedestrian was struck and killed Friday near the George Washington Bridge, authorities said. Lan Zhang was crossing Bruce Reynolds Boulevard heading north when a 2005 Ford Econoline van turning left from southbound Lemoine Avenue hit her Friday morning, Capt. Ricky Mirkovic said. Responding officers and paramedics from the Fort Lee Ambulance Corps tried to resuscitate Zhang, but she succumbed to her injuries, Mirkovic said. Lt. Clark Police Looking For Van In Connection With Hit-And-Run
Police in Clark are asking the public's help identifying a van wanted in connection with a hit-and- run accident Monday. There were no reported injuries in the crash, which occurred at Parkway Circle. Surveillance images released by police show a white Ford Econoline with Massachusetts plates, a dented door and address information for a business in Newburgh, New York.
