Firefighters Battle 3-Alarm Blaze In Middlesex County
Two homes were heavily damaged by a three-alarm fire that started in a garage in Middlesex Borough, authorities said. On Friday, June 14, at 2:40 a.m., the Middlesex Borough Police Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 832 West Second Street. Officers arrived on scene and confirmed that a garage was fully engulfed in flames. Prior to the fire spreading to 836 West Second Street, officers were able to safely evacuate the occupants of both residences, Middlesex police said. Residents of 24 condominiums in East Windsor were displaced by a fire, authorities said. On Monday, June 10, at approximately 4:30 p.m., East Windsor Township police responded to a reported structure fire at building K of the American Way Condos on Avon Drive. The first responding police officers observed heavy smoke and flames coming from the second floor on the north end of the structure. Police evacuated all residents from the K building. Three vehicles were destroyed and three others damaged in a suspicious predawn fire Sunday at a used car dealership on Route 46 in Lodi. Friends said a woman and her teenage children lost most of their belonging when a July 4th weekend fire damaged their Passaic home. Firefighters quickly got to the Third Street address off Essex Street shortly before 8:30 p.m. and had the fire under control in barely a half-hour. A worker from Clifton was seriously injured Monday when he fell 30 feet through the roof of a Hackensack plant that had been severely damaged by fire last fall, authorities said. Ridgewood Firefighters Quickly Douse House Blaze
Ridgewood firefighters quickly extinguished a house fire Wednesday afternoon. Residents got out safely and no injuries were reported at the split-level, single-family home in the 400 block of Race Track Road. Seven years after fire heavily damaged their home, a family in Union are trying to cope with yet another fire -- one that has left them homeless.
