An Elizabeth man on the lamb for 18 years for sexually assaulting a minor was arrested in Florida on Tuesday, April 9, authorities said. Hellarion Meneses was busted in Kissimmee, Fla. after he sexually assaulted a minor under the age of 13 between 2004 and 2006, Union County Prosecutor William A. NJ Turnpike Crash Damages Elizabeth Overpass Sending Debris Onto Streets Below, Officials Say
A vehicle collided with an overpass in Elizabeth sending debris flying onto the streets below, officials said. The crash occurred on the New Jersey Turnpike above Elizabeth Avenue Monday evening, April 15. Police said it forced the closure of Elizabeth Avenue at 4th Street. The roadway reopened early Tuesday morning, officers said. No injuries were reported, authorities said.

Linden Warehouse Shooter Busted With Loaded Handgun In Newark: Police
A 53-year-old South Orange man wanted for attempted murder in a warehouse shooting Friday morning, March 29 was captured in Newark, police sad. Daniel Corprew is believed to have shot a 43-year-old man from Elizabeth at Maximum Quality Foods on Tremley Point Road multiple times around 6 a.m., Linden Police Capt. Christopher Guenther said. Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Vehicle In Elizabeth: PD
A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in Elizabeth on the afternoon of Monday, March 18, authorities said. The man was hit by the car at the intersection of Spring Street and North Avenue, a spokeswoman for the city said. He was taken to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. An Englewood officer escaped serious injury when a police cruiser was rammed by a driver in a stolen car, authorities said.
