Gunman Killed In Confrontation With Manchester Township Police
An armed man was shot and killed by police Tuesday night in Manchester Township, authorities confirmed. The officers had responded to a 911 call on Elizabeth Avenue in the Ocean County township shortly before 8:30 p.m. Nov. 6, New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin said. Two of them fired their service weapons, fatally wounding, the gunman after finding him nearly 45 minutes later, the attorney general said Wednesday. Beloved Dance Teacher Dies In Elizabeth House Fire
A well-known dance teacher died in an Elizabeth house fire Tuesday, authorities announced. Damaryz Vazquez died in the two-alarm blaze that broke out at 852 Park Ave., around 6 p.m., City Spokeswoman Kelly A. Martins said. Vazquez owned a dance studio in a small storefront on Elizabeth Avenue for many years. The intense moment Newark Police apprehended a man wielding a knife and threatening families at a local park’s movie night event was captured on video. Officers patrolling Elizabeth Avenue were called to Weequahic Park, where they were directed to a man wielding a knife and pry bar and threatening families around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, Newark Public Safety Director Brian A.
