NJ Aviation Enthusiast Killed, Three Seriously Injured In Fiery I-80 Crash A New Jersey man was killed, and three passengers — his wife, son, and his son's girlfriend — were critically injured when a car lost control and was struck by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 80 in Tobyhanna Township, PA, Pennsylvania State Police announced in a press release on Monday, Dec. 16. The crash happened at mile marker 286.6 westbound around 8:39 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, 2024, during hazardous road conditions, troopers said. Visitors to cemeteries in three different North Jersey counties were victimized by a mugger and thief who was captured by Fairview police when he tried to hide behind a tombstone, authorities said. Clifton police had been looking for the bandit who robbed a 77-year-old man who was visiting at East Ridgelawn Cemetery off Main Avenue in Clifton last month. Born in Paterson, he grew up in Clifton before moving to Bloomfield. He worked as a detective for the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and was the delegate and sergeant-at-arms for the Essex County PBA. He is survived by his parents, Daniel and Anne of Clifton; his sister Diana Lake and her husband Patrick, also of Clifton; and his fiancee, Brianna D’Errico.
