A Middlesex County man told took a woman to a secluded area and told her he was "going to do what he wanted" before sexually assaulting her last year, authorities said Monday. Tyrone R. Johnson, 33, of Woodbridge, took the woman to a secluded area on East Elizabeth Avenue in Linden on Dec. 17, 2019, where he began pulling off her clothing as she pleaded for him to stop, Acting Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V. Four Linden Police Officers Hospitalized: Three In Arson Assault, Another In Crash
Hours after a Linden police officer was hospitalized in a crash, another officer was seriously injured and two others briefly hospitalized Sunday morning following an assault by an arson suspect. A 23-year-old man set fire to a mattress at a Chandler Avenue residence, then assaulted a responding officer who confronted the suspect as he emerged from the building around 10:45 a.m., Lt. Woman Hit While Crossing Linden Street In Serious Condition
A 29-year-old woman suffered serious injuries Wednesday night when she was struck by a vehicle, Lt. Christopher Guenther of the Linden Police Department said in a statement. The woman was crossing East Elizabeth Avenue at McCandless Street around 10 p.m. when she was hit by a Ford Escape heading east on East Elizabeth, Geunther said. The woman was taken to University Hospital in Newark. The driver was unhurt and remained on the scene. The driver is cooperating with police, Guenther also said.
