Newark Man, 38, Killed in Homicide: Prosecutor The death of a 38-year-old Newark man on Tuesday, Feb. 20 is being investigated by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, authorities said. Shortly after 11 p.m., Newark police responded to report of an assault on the 200 block of Cathedral Court,  Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Officers located Daniel Hass outside the location suffering from injuries, Stephens and Fragé said.
