Police ID Victim, Car Thief In Central Jersey Pursuit-Crash That Left Innocent Bystander Dead
Authorities have charged two people and identified the innocent victim killed by car thieves during a wild police pursuit in Old Bridge on Wednesday, Nov. 9.
Samuel Villar, 19, of Somerset, was using the vehicle stolen last month to burglarize cars in Marlboro when police began to pursue the car around 2:15 a.m. up Route 9, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Old Bridge Acting Police Chief Donald F. Fritz, Jr. said.

Stolen Car Driver, 15, Passenger Captured By Cresskill Police, Bergen Sheriff's Officer
A 15-year-old driver and 16-year-old passenger from Newark were captured after heading down a dead end in Cresskill in a stolen car, authorities said.
Sgt. Paul Connelly was on patrol shortly after 11:30 p.m. Wednesday when he spotted the 2022 Audi Q3 on Truman Drive, Detective Sgt. John Birnie said.
The driver hit the gas and sped off as he approached, the sergeant said.
Connelly followed the vehicle before the driver, unfamiliar with the neighborhood, turned down tiny, dead-ended North Pond Road, he said.
The driver quickly surrendered while an undetermined number of passengers bolted. …
