He was 47 years old. Known for his reassuring presence during emergencies, Erik spent many years as the calming voice on the other end of the line for those in crisis, his obituary says. Teen Football Player Airlifted After Losing Feeling In Legs In Sussex County, Police Say A 13-year-old boy was airlifted to the hospital after he was injured playing football on the evening of Saturday, Sept. 21, in Sussex County authorities said. At 8:11 p.m., the boy was playing football at Station Park in Sparta Township when he temporarily lost feeling in his legs, Sparta Township Police Captain Thomas Snyder said.  An Atlantic Air helicopter transported the boy to Morristown Medical Center, Snyder said.  The young athlete regained feeling in both legs before the helicopter arrived, but was still hospitalized for for further evaluation, Snyder said.

A man in his 70s was seen entering Lake Hopatcong but never came out on Saturday, June 22, a spokesperson for the Roxbury Police Department said. The call came in just after 7:30 p.m., bringing the Roxbury Fire Department, New Jersey State Police, and the Morris County Sheriff's Office to the scene. As of Sunday, June 23 at 10 p.m., the investigation remained active, the spokesperson said.

FedEx Driver Carjacked At Gunpoint In Linden A FedEx truck involved in a collision in Linden Monday was taken at gunpoint, police said.  The crash occurred around 6 p.m. on Stiles Street near Valley Road. The FedEx driver told police that someone got out of the other vehicle, pulled a gun on the driver and demanded the keys to the truck.
