An 87-year-old man diagnosed with dementia is missing, Bloomfield police announced on Friday, Oct. 25. Charles Newcomer was last seen on Thursday, Oct. 24, at 6:30 p.m., when he left from visiting his wife at the Brookdale assisted living facility in West Orange, police said. Newcomer is traveling in a red 2016 Jeep Wrangler bearing the New Jersey registration SC688E which has a cover of the Marine Corp symbol on the spare tire., police said. A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Bloomfield on Sunday, Oct. 13, authorities said. The crash occurred after 11 p.m. near Boughton Avenue, the Bloomfield police said. Two men and a woman from North Jersey were accused of stealing more than $100,000 in business checks from Wall Township mailboxes, authorities said. Two juveniles were arrested and charged after trespassing at Bloomfield High School on Wednesday, Sept. 11, causing a lockdown. Bloomfield High School was placed on lockdown after law enforcement was notified of two juveniles within the vicinity of the high school, Bloomfield police said in a release. Lockdown Lifted At Bloomfield High School: Police
Bloomfield High School was placed on lockdown after an unauthorized juvenile was located near the building on the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 11, authorities said. Officers were notified by high school staff about the juvenile and the building was placed on lockdown as law enforcement conducted a search, Bloomfield police said. Officers said the unauthorized individual left the area of the high school, police said. There were no reported injuries and everyone is safe, police said. A 44-year-old East Orange drug trafficker was sentenced to more than 36 years in prison on Tuesday, Aug. 1, for his role in facilitating three murders to further his narcotics enterprise, authorities said. Two men pulled up in a black sedan and demanded money from a gas station attendant, Bloomfield police said.
