Five Shot In Jersey City, Teen In Custody
Five people were shot in Jersey City in separate incidents on Thursday, Dec. 29, and a 16-year-old boy has been charged in one, authorities said. The first incident happened around 9:30 p.m. when the boy shot a 14-year-old victim in the left thigh at Armstrong Avenue and MLK Drive, city spokesperson Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione said. He was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Jersey City Dealer Who Served Time On Gun Conviction Headed To Federal Prison For Another Stint
A convicted Jersey City drug dealer who'd previously served state prison time on a gun conviction must spend the next seven years in federal prison for having the weapon and ammo he used to shoot and wound a rival, authorities said. Hassan Mosby, 40, had no trouble admitting that he was the gunman who shot a man in an October 2019 during a dispute with a group on a city sidewalk, they said. Seeks Bayonne Ex-Con Wanted In Connection With Fleeing Vehicle That Struck Officer
An ex-con wanted in connection with an incident in which a Jersey City police officer was struck by a fleeing vehicle was being sought by authorities as of Friday morning. Jabar Ford, 38, of Bayonne, is facing weapons charges following the Aug. 31 incident, JCPD spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione said. In 2011, Ford escaped from a Newark halfway house with only eight days left on a four-year prison term, according to NJ.com.
