: Car Falls Off Lift, Kills Mechanic, 46, At Lodi Auto Shop
A mechanic was killed in a horrific accident Tuesday when a car fell on him at the auto repair shop where he worked. The Chevy was on a lift at John's Service on Westminster Place at Charles Street when it fell onto 46-year-old Jason Menniti of Pompton Plains, authorities said. Menniti, a former Lodi resident whose father owns the business, was later pronounced dead at Hackensack University Medical Center, responders said. CHECK BACK FOR MORE DETAILS

Woman Run Over And Seriously Injured By NJ Transit Bus In Orange
A woman hit by a bus Thursday morning in Orange has suffered serious injuries*, a spokesman for the city confirmed. The woman was running along the left side of an NJ Transit 21 bus around 11:15 a.m. when she was struck, a spokeswoman for NJ Transit said. The woman was hit near Main Street and Glenwood Avenue. Air bags were needed to lift the bus off the woman, who was trapped beneath, the city spokesman said. A memorial will be held Tuesday at West Orange High School in honor of Christopher C.J. Morgan, a West Orange native and a cadet at West Point killed in a training exercise last week. The memorial for Morgan, a West Orange native and a standout wrestler at West Point, begins at 7 p.m. Morgan, 22, died when a truck overturned at the school. More than 20 others were hurt. Forklift Operator Killed In Elmwood Park Industrial Mishap
A 59-year-old forklift operator was killed Thursday when it fell on top of him in an Elmwood Park factory, authorities said. Lin Yi Hui of Brooklyn was operating the forklift when he got too close to the edge of a ramp, Police Cheif Michael Foligno said. The forklift began to tip -- ejecting Hui -- before it fell on top of him, hitting his head, Foligno said. Hui was pronounced dead at the scene. A sedan slammed into a taxi stand at the Ridgewood train station Wednesday afternoon after the 80-year-old driver suffered a medical emergency, authorities said. The village driver didn't require hospitalization after crashing his Honda Accord into the E&K Taxi Stand on North Broad Street just after 3 p.m., Police Chief Jacqueline Luthcke said. Tombstone Pins Bayonne Woman, 67, At North Arlington Cemetery
Two women were visiting a grave site at a North Arlington cemetery when one leaned on a tombstone that fell onto the other, pinning her, authorities said. North Arlington police got the stone off the 67-year-old Bayonne woman at Holy Cross Cemetary off Ridge Road early Saturday, Police Chief Scott Hedenberg said. She was taken to Jersey City Medical Center with arm and leg injuries that weren't considered life-threatening, the chief said.

UPDATE: A worker fell more than 50 feet Friday morning from the parking garage of a high-rise tower under construction in Hackensack when he stepped on a piece of unmarked plywood that someone used to cover a hole, authorities said. State Police Identify Man Killed In Wayne Tuesday
The victim in a fatal accident that partly closed I-80 in Wayne Tuesday morning was a 42-year-old Staten Island man, State Police said. Christian More-Rodas was standing outside his vehicle on the westbound shoulder near Exit 53 around 5:40 a.m. when he was struck by a pickup truck, according to police. More-Rodas was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, State Police also said.

Police have arrested a motorist after an accident with a school bus and another vehicle in Jersey City Friday afternoon, police said. The driver of the school bus and the other motorist were involved in a motor-vehicle accident that resulted in the bus plunging through a fence and into a salon at Jefferson and Baldwin avenues around 4 p.m., police said. Man Killed By Train In Montclair, Delays Continue Monday Morning
A man was struck and killed by an NJ Transit train early Monday morning in Montclair, NJ Transit said. The man, who Transit said was trespassing, was struck around 5:20 a.m. near Watchung Avenue by a train bound for Penn Station in New York. None of the 30 people aboard were injured.
