Update: Bank In Elizabeth Robbed, Report Says

Witnesses reported seeing several police cars around a Bank of America branch at 600 Elizabeth Ave. in Elizabeth Wednesday afternoon. Multiple police vehicles were staged in the area as of 5 p.m.

The FBI confirmed someone entered the bank around 4:20 p.m., announced a robbery and made off with an unknown amount of cash, according to a published report.

Video from the scene posted to Facebook shows police interviewing staff inside the bank early Wednesday evening.

A city spokesperson could not immediately be reached for comment.
