Jerry Ross, 42, of Dunellen, and Nicole Moody, 35, of Plainfield, were both charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute and two other drug-related offenses, the Union County Prosecutor's Office said.
Moody is also charged with endangering the welfare of a child for leaving her teenage daughter alone in a home with the drugs, authorities said.
After identifying Moody and Ross as local drug dealers, law enforcement agencies executed search warrants at their homes -- Brokaw Boulevard in Plainfield and Kline Place in Dunellen, authorities said -- around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, the prosecutor's office said.
The search warrants turned up 24 grams of cocaine and $20,237 in cash -- along with related narcotics packaging and distribution materials, according to law enforcement.
Ross and Moody were arrested without incident and lodged in the Union County Jail pending a first appearance to take place in Superior Court.
The investigation was driven by the Union County prosecutor's newly-formed Intelligence-Driven Prosecution Unit. The Plainfield Police Division Narcotics Unit and Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office assisted in executing search warrants.
