At 9 p.m., police responded to Avon Avenue and South 10th Street and found an unconscious and unresponsive infant, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. The infant was pronounced dead, authorities said.
The investigation remains ongoing, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said.
