Community College Mourns Nursing School Leader Killed In South Jersey Crash A Mullica Hill woman and beloved nursing school leader died in a crash that injured three other people in Pilesgrove Township, authorities said. Dr. Theresa Covello, 65, was killed in the crash on Monday, Dec. 9, a state police spokesperson said. She was the chief nursing officer at Salem Community College. Troopers responded to the scene at the intersection of Salem County routes 605 and 660 at around 10:10 a.m. Investigators said Dr. Covello was driving a Honda CR-V east on County Route 660 (Point Airy Road) and failed to stop at the intersection's stop sign. Swimmer, 21, Drowns At Ocean City Park A 21-year-old man from Cumberland County drowned after getting caught in a rip current off Corson’s Inlet State Park in Ocean City, authorities said. Members of the Ocean City Beach Patrol gave CPR to Nathaniel Figueroa of Vineland before he was brought to Shore Memorial Hospital in Somers Point where he died on Friday, June 17, according to New Jersey State Park Police.
