Troubled Dad Plunges To Death From NJ/NY Lookout A troubled man from River Edge who’d just been involved in a fender bender leaped to his death from atop the Palisades at the New York/New Jersey border on Wednesday, Dec. 13, authorities confirmed. The 38-year-old man had hit a couple of cars while trying to back out of a dead end near his son’s school. A resident shared video of the incident with River Edge police who -- aware of his history -- began looking for the troubled driver. Several witnesses reported seeing the Stamford, CT resident jump off the edge of the cliff at the State Line Lookout in Alpine, near New Jersey's northeastern border with New York State, shortly before 11:30 a.m. Nov. 22, Palisades Interstate Parkway Police Lt.
