A lottery ticket worth more than $650,000 was purchased at a Monmouth County bar, officials said.
The winner was sold at Airport Bar & Liquors on Route 36 in Hazlet, the New Jersey Lottery said in a news release on Wednesday, Oct. 30. The ticket that brought home the $666,481 jackpot matched all five numbers in the Jersey Cash 5 drawing on Tuesday, Oct. 29.
The winning numbers were 7, 9, 30, 38, and 45. The XTRA number was 2 and the Bullseye number was 38.

A bookkeeper from New Jersey admitted in federal court that he embezzled more than $900,000 from restaurants he worked for in the Garden State, New York and Pennsylvania, authorities said.
Richard Winter, 53, of Pompton Lakes authorized bank wire transfers from some of them, pocketed vendor payments to others and issued checks payable to cash that he then deposited into his own bank accounts, U.S. Attorney for New Jersey Philip Sellinger said.

There were three third-tier prizewinning tickets sold in New Jersey for the Friday, Oct. 28, Mega Millions drawing, according to state Lottery officials.
The players matched four of the five white balls and the Gold Mega Ball drawn winning the $10,000 prize.

The bookkeeper at a Passaic County tile and grout company embezzled more than $75,000 from her employer, authorities charged.
Yvette Tripicchio, 47, of Hawthorne, was charged with two counts of theft in an indictment returned by a grand jury in Paterson, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said.
Tripicchio deposited checks from GSD Industries in Pompton Lakes into her personal bank accounts, then “tampered with company records in an attempt to hide the theft,” the prosecutor said.
Valdes didn't disclose the suspected motive.

A 17-year-old Passaic County boy held a 16-year-old girl against her will while raping and assaulting her, authorities said.
Detectives from Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes’s Special Victims Unit interviewed the girl, among others, hours after the attack occurred at a Pompton Lakes home last Thursday, they said.
