14K Jersey Shore Customers Without Power (Storm Update) More than 14,000 customers across the Jersey Shore are without power on Monday, Jan. 10, after strong winds and rain raced across New Jersey overnight. Most of those who lost electricity are in Monmouth County, according to utility companies. Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) said 10,489 customers were without power as of 11 a.m. Those included 2,169 customers in Marlboro, 1,238 in Millstone, and 1,088 in Colts Neck. JCP&L's outage map also said 1,901 customers lost power in Ocean County. That included 725 customers in Jackson, 564 in Toms River, and 216 in Plumsted…

Human Remains Found On Jersey Shore Identified: Prosecutor Human remains discovered last month in Ocean County have been identified, authorities said. The remains discovered in Plumsted Towns have been positively identified as those of Joseph Izquierdo, 37, of Egg Harbor, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer  On April 9, the Plumsted police received a 911 call about human remains foiund in a wooded area approximately one-quarter mile from Route 528, Billhimer said. Head-On Jersey Shore Crash Leaves 1 Dead, 2 Seriously Injured A 37-year-old motorist from Ocean County was killed in a head-on crash while passing another vehicle, authorities said. The driver who was killed, from New Eqypt, has not been identified pending notification of family, according to Plumsted police. The victim was driving north on Pinehurst Road shortly before 8 p.m. on Wednesday when he tried to pass another vehicle, police said.  His vehicle struck an oncoming vehicle and then reportedly collided with the vehicle he was passing, police said.
