Dump Truck Driver Killed In New Jersey Turnpike Crash
A 45-year-old dump truck driver was killed when a tire failed and he overturned along the New Jersey Turnpike in Burlington County, authorities said.
The crash occurred at 10:51 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16 on the turnpike southbound on the outer roadway near milepost 55 in Chesterfield Township, New Jersey State Police said.
The Peterbilt dump truck overturned, ran off the road to the right, and impacted a guide rail and chain link fence, police said.
As a result of the crash, Nelson Gonzalez, of Manville, sustained fatal injuries, police said.

State Police ID Men Killed In Mercer County Crash Where Watermelons Were Strewn On NJ Turnpike
State Police have identified the two men killed in last week's tractor-trailer crash in which watermelons were strewn across the New Jersey Turnpike in Mercer County.
Malcom Cope, 55, of Douglas, Georgia, and Van Huston, 56, of Jamaica, New York, were pronounced dead after the northbound truck veered off the turnpike, struck a guard rail and slammed into a concrete bridge support near milepost 60.3, state troopers said.
Cope was the driver and Huston was a passenger.
