Person Struck, Killed By NJ Transit Train; Delays Reported
A person was struck and killed by a New Jersey Transit train on Friday, Oct. 13. At approximately 8:05 a.m. North Jersey Coast Line train 3326 struck and fatally injured a pedestrian in the vicinity of Cliffwood Ave., Aberdeen, just past Aberdeen-Matawan station, a NJ Transit spokesman said. The train departed Bay Head at 6:53 a.m. and was scheduled to arrive at Penn Station New York at 9:03 a.m. No injuries were reported to the approximately 200 customers or the crew on board. Crash With NJ Transit Coast Line Train Suspends Service, No One Hurt
North Jersey Coast Line rail service has resumed in both directions between Bay Head and Long Branch after an earlier collision with a vehicle, authorities said. At approximately 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2, North Jersey Coast Line train 3312 struck the unoccupied vehicle at Cedar Avenue crossing in Long Branch, according to a NJ Transit spokesman. A motor vehicle crash in Edison caused a power outage that knocked out New Jersey Transit service between Rahway and Trenton, authorities said. UPDATE: Northeast Corridor rail service resumed limited service on Monday afternoon, May 2, in both directions between Rahway and Trenton. Eastbound trains will bypass New Brunswick, Edison and Metuchen. Customers should transfer at Metropark for westbound service to these stations, NJ Transit announced. Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Train In Elizabeth
A pedestrian was struck and killed by a train Friday in Elizabeth. Northeast corridor train 3838 struck the pedestrian at the Elizabeth station around 11:45 a.m., NJ Transit spokeswoman Lisa Torbic said. The train had left Trenton Transit Center at 10:41 a.m. and was scheduled to arrive at Penn Station New York at 12:17 p.m. None of the approximately 350 customers and crew on board were injured.
