Man, 78, Killed While Crossing Street In South Jersey: Police A Vineland man was killed when he was walking across a road in the city, authorities said. George Chryssomitis, 78, died in the crash, the Vineland Police Department said in a news release on Friday, Oct. 25.  Officers responded to the intersection of North Main Road and Fairmount Avenue at around 5:08 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23. Chryssomitis was found with significant injuries and pronounced dead at the scene. South Jersey Woman Standing On Road At Night Dies In Crash, Police Say A Manchester Township woman was killed while standing on a road late at night, authorities said. Catherine Camargo, 37, died in the crash on Wednesday, Sept. 18, the Manchester Township Police Department said in a news release. Officers responded to the scene on Route 70 near Wilbur Avenue at around 10:41 p.m. When police arrived, they found Camargo lying in the road and a blue 2016 Hyundai Accent with extensive front passenger-side damage. State Police: Girl, 15, Struck And Killed By Car On Route 80 A 15-year-old girl was struck and killed by a car on Route 80 early Tuesday morning, state police said.  The girl ran into the road and was hit by an unknown vehicle eastbound near milepost 45.3 in Parsippany-Troy Hills just before 3:30 a.m., NJSP Trooper Alejandro Goez told Daily Voice. The girl was pronounced dead at the scene, Goez said. Her name was not released. The center and right lanes were closed for about three hours during the crash investigation.
