A former Atlantic County middle school teacher who authorities say made threats on social media against the school has been arrested for the second time in less than a month, authorities said. Shafayeth Syed, 27, of Egg Harbor Township was taken into custody in Wilmington by Delaware State Police on Tuesday, March 8 and charged with causing a false public alarm, terroristic threats, cyber harassment and contempt of court, Hamilton police said. Instagram Threat To Paterson High School Investigated
Authorities confirmed Wednesday that Paterson police and school security officials were investigating an Instagram threat that they believe was directed at Eastside High School. A photo of a gun was accompanied by the threat: "Dont come to Eastside tomrw." Authorities initially didn't know which particular school the Tuesday post was intended for. A 21-year-old man from Atlantic County has been arrested for saying a gang was about to "shoot up" a Jersey Shore high school, authorities said. The man's alleged Snapchat threats were directed at specific students in Little Egg Harbor, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.
