Tickets Issued In Lakewood School Bus Crash, 6th Crash Since September: Police
A Lakewood school bus carrying three children collided with a car in which both drivers were ticketed, authorities said. Two people in the car were hospitalized. It was at least the sixth school bus crash in Lakewood this school year, according to prior news accounts. The buses are operated by Jay's Bus Service based in Lakewood. A 24-year-old man from Lakewood has been sentenced to 10 years in state prison for abducting and assaulting his ex-girlfriend before crashing her car while drunk, authorities said. Jorge Juarez Mendoza pleaded guilty in September to multiple charges in connection to the assault last fall and an earlier incident in which he reportedly vandalized the former girlfriend's car, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. A 24-year-old man from Lakewood has admitted to abducting and assaulting his ex-girlfriend before crashing her car while drunk last fall, authorities said.
