Atlantic City police were crediting automated license plate readers for helping arrest two men with a gun and a stolen vehicle, authorities said. Daniel Ringgold, 37, of Pennsauken, was arrested on Thursday, Sept. 19, the Atlantic City Police Department said in a news release on Friday, Sept. 27. Investigators said Ringgold was driving a vehicle on Atlantic Avenue at around 5:15 p.m. when his license plate was read, triggering an alert. Ringgold had several active arrest warrants. A Philadelphia teen was arrested and several other people were wanted in a fight near the Atlantic City Boardwalk, authorities said. Joseph Miller, 19, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and possession of a large-capacity magazine, the Atlantic City Police Department said in a news release. Armed Convict Arrested On Bicycle: Lawrence Police
Lawrence Township Police Officer Piotr Bystrek was on routine patrol on Friday, May 31 at about 2:35 a.m. in the 2100 block of Princeton Pike in Lawrenceville when he observed two males on bicycles commit a traffic violation. Bystrek made contact with the Princeton males who were positively identified as Jaylin Derry-Poole, 20, and Alfred Jornegay, 31, Lawrence Township police said. An 18-year-old robbery suspect was arrested in Atlantic City, authorities said. On Monday, Oct. 16, patrol officers responded to the 800 block of Pacific Avenue in reference to a report of an armed man being involved in a fight with a woman. Officers arrived and learned that the man, Abdul Chappell, was involved in an argument with the victim when he intimated that he was in possession of a gun and stole her cellular telephone, police said. Atlantic County Man Arrested With Loaded Handgun, Ammo, Drugs
A 24-year-old man from South Jersey was arrested on multiple charges after being found with a loaded handgun during a traffic stop, authorities said. Atlantic City Police Officer Joseph Kelly stopped a vehicle at Virginia and Atlantic avenues shortly before 10 p.m. on Tuesday. During the stop, Kelly arrested a passenger in the vehicle, Elliot Handy of Absecon, police said. Toms River Police Silence Dispute Over Handgun
A dispute involving a handgun led to the arrest of a 20-year-old man from Lakehurst Borough, authorities said. Toms River police were called to Main Street Apartments about noon on Wednesday "in reference to a civil matter involving a handgun," they said.
