A funeral was held on Tuesday, March 22 for a New Jersey man whose body was found in New Orleans nearly two months after his disappearance. Authorities ID Jersey Shore Driver, 50, Killed In Head-On Crash
Authorities have identified the 50-year-old Neptune motorist killed in a three-vehicle crash on Route 33. Robert C. Johnson died after a pickup headed west in the area of Colts Neck Road veered onto the eastbound side of the highway, sideswiped a sedan and then collided with his car head-on, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office said. The crash occurred at 12:05 a.m. on Friday, March 11. Lifelong Jersey Shore resident and beloved brother Brandon Gary Murphy died suddenly on Saturday, Feb. 26. He was 23. Driver Airlifted After Sending Car Through Jersey Shore Home: Police
A 23-year-old driver with a suspended license was flown to the hospital after sending a vehicle through several yards and fences then into a house on the Jersey Shore Friday night, authorities said. A 48-year-old man from the Jersey Shore has been arrested in connection with the theft of $47,000 worth of aluminum beams from a marine construction company, authorities said. Anonymous tips from the public helped in the investigation, according to Brick Township police. Body Of NJ Man Found In New Orleans 2 Months After Disappearance: Report
The body of a 33-year-old New Jersey man was found in New Orleans more than two months after his disappearance, The Lakewood Scoop reports. Michael Gelfand, of Jackson, was found dead in NoLa on Monday, March 21, the outlet said citing sources. His body is being flown back to New Jersey for burial. Gelfand arrived in New Orleans on Jan. 5 for business and was scheduled to return to his home in New Jersey on Jan. 6, police said. His family has not heard from him since Jan. 6. One lucky Jersey Cash 5 player won big on Sunday night, state Lottery officials said. Their ticket matched all five numbers drawn to win the $650,969 Jersey Cash 5 jackpot. A 40-year-old man from the Jersey Shore was arrested in connection with a carjacking, authorities said. On Monday at 9:51 a.m., police were called to the Lukoil gas station at 2301 West County Line Road in Jackson for a reported carjacking. Police found a 57-year-old woman who said her 1999 Dodge Pickup had been stolen by a man who had punched her in the face, Jackson police said. Police have released the name of a 28-year-old driver killed when his pickup truck struck a grove of trees on the Jersey Shore. Kishon Richards of Toms River struck a guard rail near Interstate 195 in Jackson and crashed into trees, according to police.
