A woman from South Jersey has been charged with vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of a fatal accident involving a pedestrian, authorities said.
Carmen Ruiz, 53, of Brigantine, is charged with recklessly operating a motor vehicle causing the death of Dustin Miller, they said.
On Sept. 25, 2020, at 4:25 a.m., Miller, 25, of Galloway was killed on the White Horse Pike in Atlantic City when he was struck by a Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by Ruiz, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.

A 26-year-old driver was killed when her SUV ran off the Garden State Parkway, hit a tree and burst into flames overnight, State Police confirmed.
Tiesha A. Jackson, 26, of Newark was pronounced dead at the scene of the 1:40 a.m. crash Saturday, April 2, on the northbound parkway in Clifton, NJSP Trooper Brandi Slota said.
Jackson's Hyundai Santa Fe veered off the left side of the road and hit a tree on the median before it was engulfed in fire in the area of mile marker 153.7, Slota said.

A Palisades Park police officer who stopped an SUV on Route 46 found pot scattered throughout the vehicle, $42,000 in cash in a plastic bag and $4,300 in a concealed pocket in the driver’s pants, authorities said.
Officer Christian Sisco stopped the Hyundai Santa Fe with temporary Texas license plates for several violations on the eastbound highway near the George Washington Bridge shortly before 2:30 a.m. Friday, Detective Alex Monteleone said.
