The 29-year-old motorcyclist killed in a crash on the NJ Turnpike has been identified as a third-generation state corrections officer. Tyler Ford, of Hamilton, was heading south in the outer lanes when he struck a car that was stopped behind a three-car pileup near milepost 78.7 in East Brunswick on Saturday, May 27, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Philip Curry said. The three-car crash was caused when one vehicle swerved to avoid debris, lost control and became disabled in the left lane, police said. Park Ranger Billed Mercer County 298 Hours Of Work While At Home: Prosecutor
A park ranger from Mercer County spent about 298 hours at home when he said he was at work, a complaint shows. James J. Romano III falsified 64 patrol logs between July 27, 2002, and Jan. 17, 2023, which totaled 298.5 hours and $5,728 in stolen wages, according to the criminal complaint filed by the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office. Romano III, 34, of Hamilton, was charged in March with official misconduct, tampering with public records and theft by deception, according to the complaint.

Shock and sadness spread following the shooting death of a Mercer County man. Two New Jersey State Police troopers and the driver of a Ford Escape were hurt in a collision in Atlantic County, authorities said. A State police vehicle was struck by the Escape at about 11 a.m. Thursday, April 13. The crash occurred on the Black Horse Pike (Route 322 eastbound) in Hamilton near milepost 40.3, said Lr. Lawrence Peele, a State Police spokesman. The troopers were taken by ambulance to an area hospital and the driver of the Escape was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, Peele said. Police have identified the victim killed in a crash on Interstate 295 early Sunday, March 19 as a 47-year-old Lawrenceville man. Rajbir Singh was heading north in a Hyundai Tucson when his vehicle ran off the road to the right, went up an embankment, went airborne and overturned around 7:25 a.m. near milepost 63.2 in Hamilton, New Jersey State Police said.
