A 34-year-old man from Pleasantville has been convicted of killing a teenager in 2020, authorities said. Lewis Johnson has been convicted in the murder of 17-year-old C.W. on the 2000 block of Blaine Avenue in June 2020, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. A 76-year-old convicted South Jersey sex offender is looking at a minimum 10-year federal prison sentence after admitting that he collected hundreds of child porn photos and videos, authorities said. Joseph Cooper, 76, of Williamstown had served nearly 3½ years in federal prison on a 1999 child pornography conviction, which was followed by six months in the Gloucester County Jail for a 2011 child cruelty conviction, records show. Man Accused Of Torching Mom's South Jersey Home, Killing 2, Was Arrested 187 Times: Prosecutor
A 63-year-old man from Burlington County found guilty of causing the deaths of his mother and her companion in a house fire was sentenced to 11 years in New Jersey state prison, authorities said. Kurt Smith was sentenced on Thursday, Feb. 10 in Superior Court in Mount Holly, according to Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina. He must serve 85 percent of the sentence before becoming eligible for parole.
