Many homeowners in the Northeast are paying some of the highest property taxes in the country, with New Jersey topping the list for the largest tax burden, according to a new study. Thousands of casino-hotel workers in Atlantic City supported a strike in a vote, according to their union. The vote by members of Local 54 of the Unite Here union leaves exact logistics for a strike up to its contract negotiation team. They voted on Wednesday, June 15. Thousands of casino-hotel workers in Atlantic City will vote on a possible strike Wednesday, according to their union. They seek significant pay hikes in their contracts which expired on May 31, the union said.
