Authorities are investigating a Jersey Shore shooting that left a victim with a bullet fragment in his face. Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Berkeley Township Police Chief Karin DiMichele said that a shooting occurred about 3 p.m. on Monday in the Manitou Park section of Berkeley Township. Berkeley Township police responded to a residence on Third Avenue after a 9-1-1 call reporting shots fired in the area. Officers found a 29 year-old man with a bullet fragment in his face. Charges have been upgraded to murder for an ex-convict from the Jersey Shore, after a stabbing victim died of brain injuries, authorities said. The suspect was once featured on "America's Most Wanted," wrote a book called "Inabsentia," and previously served at least nine years in New Jersey State Prison, according to earlier news accounts.
