A Fair Lawn native who was critically injured trying to rescue a brother firefighter in a blaze in Baltimore has tragically made the ultimate sacrifice. Fire Lt. Dillion Rinaldo succumbed to his injuries Tuesday night, Oct. 24, five days after a rowhouse blaze claimed the life of a fellow smoke eater whom he and his colleagues had gone back in to save. Firefighters Battle Massive Brush Fire In South Jersey
Firefighters from the National Park Fire Department and local fire departments managed to contain a huge suspicious brush fire in Gloucester County. The fire consumed 25 to 30 acres of land and took about three hours to bring under control, the National Park Fire Department said. National Park and Westville fire departments were dispatched shortly before 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 5. Additional brush units were called from West Deptford and Deptford fire departments. Fatal Trenton House Fire Called 'Suspicious'
UPDATED: Authorities are investigating the cause of a fatal house fire that is considered suspicious. An elderly man was killed in the three-alarm blaze in Trenton on Tuesday night. After the fire was extinguished, the body of the dead man was found in fire debris, according to Casey DeBlasio, a spokeswoman with the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office. The blaze broke out about 8:30 p.m. in a home that was cluttered with hoarded belongings on the 700 block of Southard Street, authorities said. Lodi Police Rescue Resident, 80, Badly Burned In Garden Apartment Fire
An 80-year-old resident was taken to St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston with severe burns after two Lodi police officers rescued him from a garden apartment fire Monday afternoon, authorities said. Officers John Calabrese and David Delia pulled the unconscious victim out on their hands and knees due to all the smoke at the Gardens condos on Terhune Avenue near Marion Pepe Drive across from the Avalon development, Police Chief Donald Scorzetti said.
