Syed Hoque and his dog, Duca, were struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday, Nov. 30, in Absecon, authorities said. Dog Killed, 25-Year-Old Man Seriously Injured By Hit-Run Driver In Atlantic County: Police A man and his dog were struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday, Nov. 30, in Atlantic County, authorities said. The crash occurred shortly after midnight at the intersection of Highland Boulevard and Marlborough Avenue in Absecon, where the dog was killed. 'Fully Engulfed:' Christmas Eve Fire Destroys South Jersey Home A Christmas Eve fire ravaged an Atlantic County home. The Great Creek Road home was fully engulfed in flames when police arrived to the scene at 12 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 24, Galloway Township police said. All of the residents as well as pets had safely evacuated as numerous fire departments arrived, police said. The roadway was closed for approximately three hours on Great Creek Road between Sylvan Ave and Pitney Road.  No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation by Detective Fenil Gandhi.
