Southern State Parkway Rollover: Multiple Lanes Blocked By Reported East Islip Crash A serious crash briefly blocked multiple lanes on a major Long Island highway on Christmas Eve. The incident happened on the eastbound Southern State Parkway near Sunrise Highway in East Islip, shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24. Multiple emergency vehicles responded to a reported rollover crash, according to preliminary radio traffic. It was not immediately clear if anyone was injured or how many vehicles were involved. Department of Transportation cameras showed at least two lanes blocked with a brief backup behind the crash site. The roadway was fully reopened by 3:45 p.m.

Victim ID'd After FedEx Truck Hits, Kills Pedestrian On Long Island Expressway In Jericho Authorities identified a pedestrian who was struck and killed by a FedEx truck on the Long Island Expressway. Driver Seriously Injured In Fall From Moving Vehicle At Ronkonkoma Gas Station A man is hospitalized after falling from a moving vehicle at a Long Island gas station. The incident happened in Ronkonkoma, at the Mobil station on Ronkonkoma Avenue, at around 8:40 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23. Suffolk County Police said a 48-year-old Ridge man pulled his Ford vehicle up to a gas pump and was getting out when it rolled forward. The man fell to the pavement and suffered serious injuries. He was taken by ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital. Detectives asked anyone who witnessed the incident to contact the Suffolk County Police Department at 631-854-8452.
