East Brunswick Budget Cuts Teachers
In his 31 years of leading school districts, East Brunswick Public Schools Superintendent Victor Valeski said he'd never had to craft a school budget as difficult as the one for 2024-25. There was an $7.8 million rise in costs and $1.3 million reduction in state aid in next year's school budget. "This is by far the hardest and most impactful," Valeski told Daily Voice. A total of 51 staff members had to be eliminated, Valeski said. Two More Central Jersey School Districts Report Positive Coronavirus Cases
School districts in Middlesex and Monmouth counties have reported new positive cases of COVID-19, authorities said. In-person learning was suspended at Raritan Valley Elementary School in Hazlet due to two unrelated cases, officials said. Neither case was contracted at the school. A pair of positive cases were reported in East Brunswick (one per school), and presumptive positive cases in two others, officials said. 19: 37 Teachers, Students Quarantined At Middlesex County High School
A combined 37 teachers and students at East Brunswick High School are quarantining after coming in contact with COVID-19 cases, district officials said. The 10 teachers and 27 students all came in contact with three separate cases, not from within the school system, East Brunswick Schools Superintendent Victor Valeski said.
