Woman, 23, Dies After Rear-Ending Roadway Service Vehicle In Mercer County
A 23-year-old driver has died of her injuries after she crashed into an unoccupied roadway service vehicle along Route 29 in Mercer County, authorities said.
Majanae Burke, of Bordentown, was driving northbound in a Honda Civic near milepost 0.7 in Hamilton at about 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, when the crash occurred, according to New Jersey State Police.

A 25-year-old engineer from Mercer County was killed this week by a wrong-way driver in Massachusetts, where she lived and worked, police said.
Geetika Guruprasad, of West Windsor, died just after 12:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, in Littleton, a suburb of Boston.
Guruprasad was driving her Mazda CX-5 on Route 2 when an SUV traveling on the wrong side of the road collided with her, Massachusetts State Police said. Paramedics rushed her to Emerson Hospital in Concord, Massachusetts, where doctors pronounced her dead.

A 47-year-old unlicensed New Jersey driver has been charged in a Staten Island crash that left three teenagers, including a pair of siblings, dead over the weekend, authorities said.
Maher Asi-Mahmoud, of Marlboro, was turning left in an eastbound 2017 GMC Yukon when it collided with a westbound Ford Mustang, carrying the teens Sunday, July 10, police said. The Mustang was sent into a tree on impact and split in half, ejecting two of the occupants.

Drunken Driver Gets 12 Years In Crash That Killed 3 Family Members: Report
A Vineland driver who admitted to being drunk in a high-speed crash that killed three family members was sentenced to 12 years in New Jersey state prison, NJ Advance Media reported.
Modesto Pino, 37, of Vineland, was going more than 90 mph before he struck an SUV driven by Iban Garcia-Ruiz, 30, of Bridgeton on Nov. 2, 2020.
Garcia-Ruiz and his wife, Elisa Perez-Hernandez, 32, were pronounced dead at the crash scene. Their two children were hospitalized with serious injuries. One of them, 1-year-old Ivan, later died.

A 61-year-old bicyclist from Ocean County was killed when he was struck by a Jeep, authorities said.
On Monday, May 2, at 9:40 p.m., Stafford police responded to a collision on Route 72 westbound near the Garden State Parkway.
Investigation indicated that a 2012 Jeep operated by Ronald Sheehy, 55, of Waretown, was traveling west on Route 72, and transitioning into the far right lane to access the Garden State Parkway north ramp, Stafford police said.

Passenger Killed When Tractor-Trailer Flips At NJ Turnpike Toll Plaza: State Police
A passenger in a tractor-trailer was killed when the truck flipped after a collision in a New Jersey Turnpike toll plaza in Salem County, authorities said.
Kastarra Sha Quinta Lawrence, 23, of Augusta, Georgia, was killed, State Police said.
The truck driver, 23-year-old Corey McKonnen Duncan Jr., also from Augusta, suffered critical injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, according to Trooper Brandi Slota, a State Police spokeswoman.
The crash occurred at about 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19.

Update: New Milford Driver, 53, Killed When Commuter Train Hits SUV In River Edge
UPDATE: A driver was killed Tuesday afternoon when a commuter train struck his SUV in River Edge near the Hackensack border.
Sheng Chen, 53, initially was unresponsive, with a weak pulse, after a Pascack Valley Line train struck the Toyota Sequoia on Main Street, east of New Bridge Landing, around 4:40 p.m., authorities said.
He was pronounced dead less than 20 minutes later.
The Pascack Valley Line Train 9618 left Spring Valley at 4:02 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Hoboken at 5:04 p.m., NJ Transit's Nancy Snyder said.
