A 62-year-old electric bicycle rider from Teaneck suffered what appeared to be broken bones when he was struck by an SUV driven by a 69-year-old township woman, authorities said. Police Chief Andrew McGurr pointed to the crash at the intersection of Palisade Avenue and Colonial Court shortly after 7 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, while urging both motorists and riders of alternative vehicles to be wary of one another. Prosecutor: Somerville Bicyclist Struck By Car Failed To Stop At Red Light
A 65-year-old bicyclist who failed to stop at a red light in Somerset County was struck by an SUV with the right of way and hospitalized, authorities said. A Somerville officer was on patrol when he saw the collision at the intersection of North Bridge and West High streets around 10:40 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. When dozens of car drivers "showed off" in front of the fans in Belmar, police responded by ticketing at least 25 motorists for violations -- including parking tickets. Monday night’s car meet was the second impromptu event this year in Belmar. A 28-year-old pedestrian was struck in an unmarked Hackensack crosswalk the other morning, raising what authorities said is an important point. The victim, a Jersey City woman, was heading west across Summit Avenue at Thompson Street in an unmarked crosswalk when she was struck around 7 a.m. by a southbound 2019 Ford Mustang driven by a 64-year-old city man, police said.
