At 9:52 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Easton Avenue and JFK Boulevard after a Mack tractor trailer overturned, the Franklin Township Police Department said.  The driver, a 56-year-old Georgia resident, was attempting a right-hand turn from JFK Boulevard onto southbound Easton Ave. when he experienced a mechanical issue with the brakes, police said. Jersey Shore Woman, 49, Dies In Garden State Parkway Crash A 49-year-old woman died in a crash on the Garden State Parkway Tuesday, March 7, authorities said. Rebecca Goodwin was heading north in a Chevrolet Trailblazer when she struck the left guardrail, ran off the road and down an embankment, overturned and struck multiple trees around 1:05 p.m. in Ocean Township, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Philip Curry said. Goodwin died as a result of the crash. The left lane of the GSP northbound was closed for approximately four hours resulting in moderate traffic congestion. The crash remains under investigation.

State Police ID Men Killed In Mercer County Crash Where Watermelons Were Strewn On NJ Turnpike State Police have identified the two men killed in last week's tractor-trailer crash in which watermelons were strewn across the New Jersey Turnpike in Mercer County. Malcom Cope, 55, of Douglas, Georgia, and Van Huston, 56, of Jamaica, New York, were pronounced dead after the northbound truck veered off the turnpike, struck a guard rail and slammed into a concrete bridge support near milepost 60.3, state troopers said.  Cope was the driver and Huston was a passenger.
