A driver escaped serious injury after her SUV overturned Wednesday morning in Glen Rock. The 28-year-old Union City driver, who was headed to work at a local doctor’s office, was checked out after her 2020 Toyota Rav 4 sideswiped a utility pole and overturned on Prospect Street near Cornwall Road just after 9:30 a.m. She got out on her own before police arrived and refused medical attention, responders said. Toms River Man, 18, Pleads Guilty In Hit-Run Death Of Morris County Utility Worker
A Toms River man on Tuesday pleaded guilty to charges he was facing after a hit-and-run crash that killed a Morris County utility worker in Metuchen. Paddy Flynn, 18, pleaded guilty to causing death by driving without a license and knowingly leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death for the March 2 crash that killed Michael Bergamasco, 51, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said in a statement. It wasn't a scene for the faint of heart: A man who got out of a sedan after it was rear-ended on Route 4 in Teaneck over the weekend was struck and killed in a chain-reaction crash that sent a van careening into a house and bursting into flames. It began when the Toyota Sienna was rear-ended by a Honda Accord on westbound Route 4 off North Wilson Avenue shortly after 5 a.m. Sunday. Boy On Bike, 15, Struck By 2 SUVs In Cape May Dies
A 15-year-old boy died after being struck by two SUVs while riding his bike in Cape May County, State Police said. Jackson Sturm of Upper Township was heading northbound in the right shoulder of Route 50 in clear and dry conditions around 5 p.m., last Thursday, NJSP Trooper Charles Marchan told local news outlets. Sturm tried crossing over the highway when he was struck by Chevy and Ford SUVs also going north, Marchan said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Man Riding Electric Scooter On NJ Turnpike Killed By SUV
A National Park man riding an electric scooter was killed in an overnight crash on the NJ Turnpike, authorities said. Alexander Dziewa, 27, was heading westbound on a TailG scooter in the left lane when he was struck by a Buick Rendezvous SUV around 2:25 a.m. in Kearny, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Lawrence Peele said. Dziewa -- whose Facebook page says he is a Garfield native -- was pronounced dead at the scene, near mile marker 109.4, Peele said. The area was closed for three hours for investigation. Circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation.

A 57-year-old Guttenberg woman was struck and killed by a commuter bus early Wednesday at a busy Fairview intersection. The driver of the 166 from Manhattan's Port Authority terminal to Cresskill was making a left from Anderson Avenue onto Fairview Avenue at 6:45 a.m. when the front of the bus knocked Teresa Maresca down, Police Chief Martin Kahn said. A 40-year-old man was killed when he was struck by a car while riding a hoverboard in Bayonne, authorities said. Matthew Anderson was on the electric device when he was hit by a car near 40th Street and Avenue C Sunday, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Anderson was pronounced dead at 3:30 p.m. that day, at Jersey City Medical Center, Suarez said. The driver, a 23-year-old man, remained at the scene, authorities said.
