A 61-year-old van driver died and 14 passengers were injured in a crash Wednesday morning on Route 24 in Morris County, authorities confirmed. A 2000 Ford E350 passenger van was heading eastbound when it veered off the right side of the road, struck a guardrail and overturned around 10:15 a.m. near milepost 2, New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said. The van then struck a second guardrail and went down an embankment hitting several trees along the way, Marchan said. Driver Dead, Passenger Seriously Injured In Route 287 Rollover Crash
A 49-year-old driver died and her 48-year-old passenger was seriously injured in a Route 287 rollover crash overnight in Piscataway. Tamiyka N. Scott, of Piscataway, was heading southbound in a 2003 Honda Accord when she went off the road, struck multiple trees and overturned around near milepost 5.2, New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said. Scott's passenger, a Staten Island woman, was ejected and suffered serious injuries in the incident around 12:15 a.m., Sunday, Marchan said. Central Jersey Driver, 78, Charged In Deadly Clark Hit-Run
A 78-year-old Central Jersey driver was charged in a Union County hit-and-run that killed an 82-year-old man. Thiruvenk Srinivasan, 78, of Edison, was charged with a single count of second-degree leaving the scene of a fatal accident in connection with last month's crash, acting Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V. A 33-year-old man from Galloway Township was killed in a head-on collision with a school bus, authorities said. Thomas Malinowski was driving north on Pitney Road when his vehicle struck a school bus hearing south near Quail High Boulevard and East Collins Road on Wednesday, Galloway police said. A pedestrian was struck by several cars early Monday in Woodbridge, authorities said. First responders were called to the 900 block of Route 1 to investigate reports of a car-pedestrian crash. All lanes of Route 1 were closed in both directions by 2:03 a.m. as EMS crews treated an identified person.
