Edison Bus Driver Left Disabled Woman Overnight In Van: Prosecutor
A 53-year-old bus driver from Edison has been charged with neglect after authorities said she left a disabled woman in a van overnight. Winnie Raini has been suspended from her job with Inspiring NJ Transportation LLC following the incident on Jan. 2, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Edison Poilce Chief Thomas Bryan said. Failed Brakes Send School Bus Carrying Students Into Edison Home: Police
Two students suffered minor injuries after a school bus crashed into a home in Edison, authorities said. The brakes apparently failed on the bus carrying about 30 John Adams Middle School students at 8:06 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18,, Police Chief Thomas Bryan said. The driver, who was not hurt, did a great job maneuvering around three other houses by crossing through a field, the chief said. No one was injured in the home on Rahway Roa which was occupied by three clearing crew workers, Bryan said. The house has been condemned, he said. "It could have been a lot worse," Bryan said.

Hamilton Motorcyclist Killed In Route 1 Crash In Central Jersey
A motorcyclist from Hamilton was killed in a Route 1 crash in Edison, authorities said. The name or age of the motorcycle rider had not been released by police. The crash occurred at about 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20, on Route 1 northbound, Edison police said. The motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed and ultimately got trapped under a vehicle stopped in traffic, according to Edison Police Chief Thomas Bryan. Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left an electric scooter rider in critical condition. On Monday, Jan. 16 at 12:55 a.m., Edison police responded to the northbound lane of Route 1 and Prince Street following the report of a crash. Police found the victim, who was stuck while crossing Route 1 with an electric bicycle. Authorities have released the names of the victims killed in an Edison crash. Ziyad Elsaedi, 21, of North Plainfield, was heading southbound in Route 1 when he struck a tree at Jeff Street around 10:15 p.m., on Feb. 6, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Edison Police Chief Thomas Bryan said. A 77-year-old man killed in a fire in Central Jersey last week has been identified, authorities said on Monday. Dorbin Armstrong, of Edison, was found unresponsive inside his home on Plainfield Avenue, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Thomas Bryan of the Edison Police Department.
