Three Injured, One Critically, In Crash That Closes Route 17
UPDATE: A 17-year-old Elmwood Park driver was behind the wheel when a sedan bounced off the divider and slammed into a retaining wall Saturday night on rain-slicked Route 17 in Waldwick, critically injuring a 20-year-old passenger, authorities said. Waldwick firefighters extricated the front-seat passenger after what responders said was a partial ejection in the crash on the highway’s southbound side just after 7 p.m. He was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, along with the driver and 19-year-old rear seat passenger, neither of whom had serious injuries, Police Lt. : Hillsdale Driver, 53, Killed In GSP Bergen Crash
A driver killed in a Wednesday morning crash on the Garden State Parkway was identified as a 53-year-old Hillsdale woman. A Toyota RAV 4 driven by Shang Nam was disabled by another crash when it was struck in the EZ-Pass express lanes on the southbound Parkway in Washington Township by an Audi A4 driven by a 40-year-old Upper Saddle River man shortly before 6 a.m., Sgt. Lawrence Peele said. Nam was pronounced dead at the scene, Peele said. The other driver was taken to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood with injuries that weren't considered life threatening, he said. New Milford Man Gets Five Years For Shaking 4-Month-Old Son Unconscious
An unemployed New Milford man who shook his 4-month-old son unconscious last year was sentenced Friday in Hackensack to a plea-bargained five years in state prison. Travis Weber, 29, remained held Friday in the Bergen County Jail pending transfer to prison following the sentence for his plea to second-degree child endangerment. The baby’s mother found the boy unconscious last February after leaving him with Weber, authorities said.
