Feds Probe Trenton Police For Excessive Force, Unlawful Searches
The Trenton Police Department and the City of Trenton are under federal investigation for a pattern of excessive force and unlawful stops and searches, authorities said. Assistant U.S. Attorney General Kristen Clarke, of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division in Washington and U.S. Attorney for New Jersey Philip R. Pair Nabbed In Shooting Of On-Duty Trenton Firefighter
Two suspects in last month’s shooting of an on-duty firefighter in Trenton have been arrested and charged, authorities announced Wednesday. Kena L. West was charged with criminal attempted murder and multiple counts of aggravated assault, as well as several weapons offenses, Trenton Police Director Steve Wilson said. Zaequan Cofield was charged with child endangerment and obstruction, as well as numerous weapons offenses. ‘Valued And Respected’ Marine Corps Vet, Longtime Trenton Employee Ashley Marshall Dies, 35
US Marine Corps veteran and longtime Trenton employee Ashley Marshall died Tuesday of natural causes at the age of 35. Marshall started her career with the city as a school crossing guard in 2013 before she was appointed to be a parking enforcement officer two years later, Trenton Mayor Reed Gusciora said in a statement announcing her death. “Sorrow fills our hearts, a sorrow that is deep and personal,” said Gusciora.
