South Hackensack PD: Convicted Sex Offenders, Prostitute Caught With Dead Man’s Stolen Car
Two registered sex offenders, a convicted prostitute and a woman with a history of drug arrests in two states were caught by South Hackensack police in a car stolen from a dead man, authorities said. Officer Joseph Applegate spotted the 2018 Volkswagen sedan moving erratically on westbound Route 46 near the Stagecoach Motel shortly after midnight Thursday, Detective Sgt. James Donatello said. Authorities sought the public’s help finding a Passaic man who slipped through a dragnet after they said he choked his girlfriend at a Route 46 motel. A relative of the 23-year-old victim phoned South Hackensack police Tuesday night after seeing her injuries during a Facetime chat from the Stagecoach Motel, Capt. Robert Chinchar said. South Hackensack Detectives ID, Bust Accused Burglar
South Hackensack detectives cracked the theft of a laptop during a local burglary when they arrested a career criminal from Paterson who was staying at an area motel, authorities said. Detective Sgt. James Donatello began by reviewing surveillance video after the victim reported the $2,500 Apple laptop stolen from a vehicle parked outside a local home the night of Feb. 17, Deputy Police Chief Robert Kaiser said.
