Middlesex County Man, 32, Dies Day After Being Struck By Car Middlesex County resident Salvatore "Sal" Caiola died Thursday, April 20 at RWJ. He was 32. Sal was hit by a vehicle while crossing the street on Wednesday, April 19, and taken to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries the following day, his obituary says. Born in New Brunswick, Sal went to St. Matthew’s School until eighth grade while serving as an Altar boy. He then attended St. Joseph's High School, where he played as a goalie on the ice hockey team.
