It is unclear what led to Mailot's arrest but he has been a member of the Toms River Regular Republican Club since 2007 according to his biography on the website's leadership page. Mailot, 33, serves as vice president of membership for the club. He remains in police custody. An email has been sent to Toms River police requesting more information.
