Ex-Convict Struts Through Trenton With Loaded Assault Rifle: Police A 38-year-old ex-convict was arrested with a loaded assault rifle slung over his shoulder, authorities said. Trenton police said they found Joseph Moore walking along the 100 block of Turpin St. with the rifle and a high-capacity magazine containing 50 rounds of ammunition on Monday, June 10 at about 5:20 p.m. He was charged with several weapons offenses. Update: Police, Ocean Sheriff's Officers Rule Out 'Shots Fired' In South Toms River UPDATE: Police and multiple Ocean County Sheriff's Department units responded to a report of shots fired on Thursday night, authorities said. Upon arrival, officers met with a woman who said that "an unknown person knocked on her door at which time she heard what she believed to be gunshots,"  South Toms River police said in a statement. On Friday afternoon, the incident turned out "to be unfounded at this time," police said.
