One of the nation's major oil companies says it will close 1,000 gas stations. Shell made the announcement in its 2024 Energy Transition Strategy report, saying the measure is “in response to customer needs” and aimed at reallocating those resources towards EV charging stations. Parkway Gas Stations Robbed Minutes Apart: State Police
Two gas stations along the Garden State Parkway were robbed within minutes of each other on Friday, Aug. 18, authorities said. Troopers responded to an armed robbery on at 12:44 a.m. at the parkway's Shell and Exxon stations in the northbound and southbound Colonia Service Areas in Woodbridge Township, according to Detective Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman with the New Jersey State Police. Summit Man Found Guilty In Knifepoint Gas Station Robbery
A Union County jury on Tuesday returned a guilty verdict against a Summit man charged with armed robbery after threatening a gas station attendant at knifepoint in 2018. The jury deliberated for less than a day before convicting 47-year-old Patrick Vermilyea of first-degree armed robbery, third-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, and fourth-degree theft of movable property, acting Prosecutor Lyndsay V.
