Emmy Winner Who Appeared On Northern Exposure, Desperate Housewives, Young Sheldon Dies
An Emmy Award-winning actress known for her roles in several popular TV series has died.
Valerie Mahaffey was 71 years old, and had been battling cancer, her publicist told The Hollywood Reporter.
She died on Friday, May 30 in Los Angeles.
Mahaffey was known for playing eccentric characters on Desperate Housewives, Young Sheldon, Northern Exposure, and Big Sky.
In 1992, she won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her performance on the CBS series Northern Exposure in 1992.

'Seinfeld’s' Jason Alexander Appearing At Jersey Shore Film Festival
The Lighthouse International Film Festival is having the Summer of George.
Jason Alexander, who won multiple Emmys for playing George Costanza on “Seinfeld” will be the keynote speaker at the film festival, which runs from Wednesday, June 4 to Sunday, June 8.
Alexander will be appearing at a 25th anniversary screening of the movie he directed, “Just Looking,” on Friday, June 6, followed by a Q-n-A session.
On Saturday, June 7, Alexander will take part in an intimate keynote conversation about storytelling, filmmaking and his career.
