Seal Spotted On Long Beach Blvd (

A seal was rescued after he was seen wandering on Long Beach Blvd on Tuesday, Feb. 24, authorities said. Harvey Cedars police and DPW blocked traffic as the seal made her way to Middlesex Avenue where she decided to nap in the middle of the block, Marine Mammal Stranding Center said. Officers and the Department of Public Works were able to carefully move the seal to safety, blocking traffic and transported him to MMSC, officials said. Seal Bitten By Shark Rescued In NJ Beach Town: Officials
A one-year-old seal is recovering after he was bitten by a shark on Christmas Day in Surf City on Long Beach Island. When Marine Mammal Stranding Center, based in Brigantine, arrived on the scene, they said they found the yearling suffering from a large laceration on his left hip and wounds on his abdomen and around his tail. The seal was transported to the center for medical treatment and staff administered fluids and flushed out his wounds, MMSC said. He is currently on oral and topical medications to prevent infection and is resting in intensive care, MMSC said.

The US Open is the place to be for New Jersey residents on Sunday, Sept. 3. Aaron Rodgers, who famously moved to Montclair earlier this year, was among the celebs at this year's US Open, presumably cheering on Voorhees native, Tommy Paul.
